Earlier this week I had the opportunity to do a shoot for an exhibition to be held at Grootte Schuur Hospital celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first heart transplant by Dr Chris Barnard. I'm truly honored and proud to have been able to experience a tiny bit of the wonderful work the doctors and nurses do in the transplant unit.
I witnessed open heart surgery, met a handful of people that got a second chance in life when they received a new heart and realized the great importance of organ donation.
The exhibition starts on the 3rd of December.
